Melbourne is indeed fortunate to have such a beautiful and great wine producing region so close. It can also boast as having the first vines to be planted in Victoria.
This region has a superb range of wineries that serve food, whether it is from a restaurant, cafe, or a regional produce platter, there are plenty of options to fill your belly. Chardonnay from the region is exquisite, as is Pinot Noir, and guess what? When you put the two together you get fantastic Sparkling wine.
The wineries are never far from each other. As well as Pinot and Chardonnay, look for quality Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
